Welcome to the wonderfully confusing world of installing Shockwave plug-ins!
Actually, it's not as bad it seems at first. Luckily, Macromedia continues to improve the way it provides the free Shockwave plug-ins to users.
My goal here is to get you the right plug-in to work with "Nowhere Road - The Game". First, we need to determine if you are a Windows or Macintosh user. If you are a Windows user (and that seems to be about 90% of the planet), just read on. If you are a Macintosh user, click here for special instructions.
Instructions for Windows users on how to get the right Authorware Web Player plug-in downloaded and installed on your computer:

Click here to have Macromedia auto-install the right plug-in for you! This is the recommended way to get the right version of the Authorware Web Player. |
This should work just fine, but if you have any problems, you will need to go to the Macromedia Shockwave Download Center and manually determine the right plug-in for your computer (just remember to look for Authorware Web Player). However, beware! This Macromedia web site is confusing.
Special Instructions for Macintosh Users
Unfortunately, the Authorware 5 version of this plug-in is only available from Macromedia for the Windows platform. The Macintosh version is still in beta development. If you go to Macromedia's auto-install web site above, you will be given plug-ins that only work for files shocked with Authorware 4.
However, I have a copy of the 68K and PPC Macintosh Beta versions of the plug-in. The latter works great on my computer (an iMac -- strawberry). However, since it a beta version, Macromedia will not provide any support to you, nor will be held liable for any problems you encounter (yes, this goes for me too!). So, download and install at your own risk:
After you download and unstuff this file, you need to quit your web browser, then follow the install instructions that come with the software.
