Ordering and Purchasing Printed Copies

Despite the fact that you can download and print out your own copy of the book, it's recognized that many may simply prefer to order a printed copy to be mailed to them. If that's the case, realize that you are shifting the job of printing, binding, handling and (lest we forget) postage and handling back to the publisher.

Printed copies are available only for the Authorware 5 Attain version. The cost for printed copies is $59.00 ($49.00 for qualifying educators) and includes the $30.00 royalty fee ($20.00 for educators) and the costs of printing, binding, handling, and postage (if mailed in the United States; International customers should contact Lloyd Rieber directly for information on additional postage costs for your country). The printed copies are limited to high quality photocopies with a spiral binding. All printed copies must be prepaid. Send a check or money order in U.S. funds (made payable to Lloyd Rieber) to this address:

Lloyd Rieber
6114 Nowhere Road
Hull, Georgia 30646 (USA)

Along with your check or money order, be sure to include your name, complete mailing address (street, city, state, zip code), email address, school/company name, and your position.

Again, all orders for printed copies must be prepaid. Copies should arrive within 2-4 weeks after money is received (although most are mailed within one week of receipt of order). Please note that this rate is for orders of less than 5 copies. People wishing to place a bulk order (such as for a college class), should contact Lloyd Rieber directly for more information.

It's recommended that you download and preview an electronic copy of one or more of the sample chapters to ensure your satisfaction (the printed copy mailed to you is an exact copy of the complete chapters). Printed copies cannot be returned after purchase.

Prices are subject to change without notice.

Printing time

The number of graphics embedded in this book unfortunately leads to long print times. Please do not underestimate the time it will take to print out the entire book. In order to avoid undue frustration, included here are some time estimates for printing each of the chapters. These are the actual times it took to print the book on an Apple LaserWriter Pro 630 printer (at the required resolution of 300 dpi). Your times will vary, but this should give you an idea of how to manage the printing. It is suggested that you print Chapter 2 first as a way to gauge if your printing time will be different (and by how much) from the following since it is a relatively short chapter though its proportion of graphics is similar to most of the other chapters (in contrast, the preface and index contain virtually all text):

Preface -- 4 minutes
Chapter 1: Slide Show -- 2 hours
Chapter 2: Basketball Camp -- 30 minutes
Chapter 3: Mystery Number -- 45 minutes
Chapter 4: Space Shuttle Commander -- 45 minutes
Chapter 5: Amazing Mazes -- 1 hour 15 minutes
Chapter 6: How'd They Do That? -- 1 hour 30 minutes
Appendices -- 15 minutes
Index -- 2 minutes

(All times listed above are estimates for printed the complete chapters.)
